"red diamonds"

RED DIAMONDS

Thursday was a big day for Emma! She has been begging us to take her to the mall to get her ears pierced. All of a sudden she has been so into having her ears pierced. I think it's the need to fit in with the other/more girly girls at preschool that has influenced her.

Anyway, I kept asking her if she was sure and she told me that it "will only hurt for a minute" and that "it's ok to cry a little." ( I think after the whole hospital thing, she knows what it means when something will "just hurt for a second" and that "it's ok to cry." She probably heard me say that numerous times.

Good job to Dave who was not only brave enough to take her to get it done, but to also take some pictures for me to always have. I was at work at the time and I think I was more stressed out about it than she was. She kept telling me, "mom, relax, it will only hurt for a minute."

So Dave took her to Claire's out at Village Point where there was only one person working at the time. (one ear at a time. :) Anyway, I had called around being the freak that I was being. YES....I was "shopping around" for the best "ear piercer." I know, I know. So I found this lady that has been with the company for eight years! Whew. ..you would have thought I was shopping around for a cardiac surgeon or something.

Anyway, Emma called when it was done and told me she was all done and that she got "red diamonds." I asked her if she cried and she gave me the I'm annoyed with you talking about it, "no, it didn't even hurt." followed by the "I gotta go, daddy is buying me ice cream."

So, I talked to Dave who confirmed that I was more of a chicken than she was. Nope, she didn't cry at all!!
Good thing I didn't go.....that's what dads are for.
Anyway, the red diamonds are gorgeous and she is thrilled to be just like "Abby" at preschool.

Emma, the red diamonds are so pretty and you look so cute with them. Great job to daddy for taking her and being able to get pictures. I said it on Stacy's blog and I'll say it here. We could not have a better husband and daddy for Sarah and the girls if we would have picked you ourselves. xoxoxo

Yea, Emma!! Your red diamonds are beautiful! Kenzie's had her ears pierced since she was a baby but hasn't worn earring for probably 9 months or longer. I showed her Emmas picture and she said she's "thinking" about wearing earrings again. (The holes are probably closed by now!)
We'll see, maybe Emma will inspire Kenzie to wear earrings. :)
