The Spizzirri Rollcall

This was created to keep our families and friends updated in all of our adventures and because I need something to do with the many pictures I take.

Stuff...

Lots of little stuff going on in our lives. Nothing major, which is good. Anyway, I'm really not in the mood to post on the blog tonight but I have to at some point so tonight is as good of a time as ever.

Today Emma and all the first graders had a "rainforest play." She was a "chopper." The play pretty much was about the importance of not chopping down all the trees. It was very cute of course. Thanks to dad for coming over to stay with the baby so she could still get her nap in.

Dave's new favorite activity is turkey hunting. It seems as if there is always something to shoot at. ;) Anyway, he went out very early Saturday morning and brought one home. I'm sure it won't taste like the Butterball ones that we are used to.

Marina Claire has been trying to figure out the crawling thing for a few weeks now. She finally figured it out a couple days ago. Ugh! I don't understand why we want them to crawl, it's so much more work. She is constantly headed for the end tables and any cords that are plugged in. Nevermind all the toys scattered all over the floor. I was fixing dinner the other night and heard a "thump" followed by a little cry. She had crawled through the end table and halfway out the other side. She had managed to get herself "high centered" and needed rescued. The girls initially thought it was cute but are quickly realizing also how good she can get to their things too.

That's it for tonight, I took Friday off to go to the zoo with Emma's class. She is so excited because I agreed to ride the bus. She told me to get there early so we can get the seat at the back of the bus. Yuck, I'm pretty sure I'll feel like hurling by the time we get to the zoo. :) Should be an experience.

Noodling?

I'm sure that near none of my blog readers know what "noodling" is except for Stacy and Ted. :)
Noodling is a "technique" (if you can call it that) of guys fishing for catfish with their bare hands. They get in the water and "feel around" blindly until they grab a fish. Yuck.
Anyway, noodling was on tv once and we got a kick out of watching it....the best part were the "fishermen." :)
Anyway, Dave is not a "noodler" thank goodness. :) But, he is in noodling country spoonbill fishing with some friends. This is actually a smaller spoonbill but not bad for the first day.
We miss him of course but are so glad that he is able to get away and have some good guy time.

Happy 40th Dave!!!

Today is "the big one" for Dave. Better him than me. I had to work today because I'm off Wed thru Fri so Dave can go spoonbill fishing in Oklahoma.

We actually celebrated a little yesterday with a special cake and pie for his birthday. We took the girls bowling, then to Texas Roadhouse....our favorite restaurant where on Mondays kids eat free. ;)

Well, it was definitely kid night there. The kids had a blast....good thing Dave enjoyed his steak. We had a magician at our table entertaining the girls while we waited for our food. They got to line dance with the waitresses, the Omaha Beef mascot was roaming around along with the quarterback and kicker, and the armadillo was in from Texas.
"Someone" told the waitress that it was Dave's birthday, so he "got to" sit on the bull and wave his napkin around while the restaurant yelled "yee haw." Of course the girls LOVED that part.

Anyway, here are a ton of pics from the birthday celebrations...... check out the "decorated" pie and Spongebob catching a spoonbill....

Happy Easter

Well, I think the Easter Bunny has already come, so I better post a quit entry before going to bed. I'm sure the girls will be up early as ever. Then a quick hunt for plastic eggs, then church, then Dave's mom, then mom and dad, then bedtime. :) Then work again :(

Anyway, Happy Easter to all who read this.

I was flipping channels tonight just in case there was an Easter Special on (Charlie Brown) and ran across the Ten Commandments movie. I told Emma what it was and she got so excited. Apparently they have been studying the 10 Commandments at school. Then, she started to recite them.......but only could remember 8..

it was all I could do not to giggle. How stinkin' precious is this list:

1. No killing
2. No stealing
3. Listen to your parents
4. Obey God
5. Obey Jesus
6. No running off (I have no clue where that "commandment" came from)
7. Treat Jesus in a nice way

and for the ultimate commandment:

8. Don't "check" your next door neighbor's wife :)

here's a couple pics from our Easter festivities today.... more to follow hopefully tomorrow.

makeovers are good

Well, I haven't blogged in quite awhile...sorry!!! Lots to talk about but little time to blog it. Anyway, when mom and dad and Brian were away to Hawaii a couple weeks ago, Stacy and I decided to redo mom and dad's bedroom. We have been planning this for a couple months (since mom's 60th birthday) and dad even knew about it.

We got started only a couple hours after they had left and were able to completely change their room in less than a week. We had SO MUCH FUN doing it too. AND BOY DID IT NEED IT!!! I took many before and after pics of the room just to demonstrate the dramatic changes. :) As you will see in the pics below, mom was very surprised and pleased although I think she somewhat had it figured it out. oh well!!

Here are a few pics of the bedroom before. Yikes.......... As you can see there are a multitude of colors/patterns/pictures/flowers/etc. ugh. And as for the pyramidial picture pattern....it had to go along with the "poofy" tissue paper stuffed valances. :)

As for the "after" pics...... looks much more like a bedroom and less like an office/bedroom nightmare.....

And luckily, mom loved it. (sorry mom I know you hate this pic) :)
