First grade drama
I definitely need to take a break from the election coverage, so I figured I would blog about some first grade drama. :)
Maybe it will put a smile on someone's face on a night like this.....
Emma got in the car after school and told me that she was a little upset because her school friend "Lauren" lied. She went on to explain that her "reading partner" switched to "Lauren" and used to be "Allison." Lauren asked her if she liked her better than Allison as a reading partner. Emma told me that she tried to tell Lauren that she liked both of them but according to Emma, "Lauren said I couldn't say both....I had to pick one." Apparently Lauren "promised" that she wouldn't tell anyone who Emma picked. Emma told me that she told Lauren that she was her favorite "reading partner" but then Lauren told Allison what she said. OH BOY!! So
ow who knows who is mad at who. Atleast they kept their little drama to themselves and apparently none of them got in trouble. I don't see boys having these kind of issues. I told Emma to go to school tomorrow and be friendly to both of the girls and not to talk about it anymore. Goodness!!
Then, at dinner time she told me that she no longer sits next to "Deland." (a boy in her class) She said that almost everyone got to switch desks. She said that she is glad because Deland is "always trying" to hug her. :) I asked her why and Lauren chimed in, "Emma, Deland likes you." (how funny is that) Emma said that her teacher hasn't ever "caught" him doing it though. She informed me that he was not her boyfriend and that maybe she would "let him" be her boyfriend "someday after College." (Perfect)
Her other little friend Colin asked her to be his girlfriend a couple of weeks ago. She told me that she told him no because she didn't want to get in trouble with the teacher. I asked her what Colin said and she said that he told her that he would just "add her to the list." :)
Then at dinner tonight she told me that there are some schools that don't "allow" you to pray there. She wanted to know why so I told her that some people don't believe in God. About 10 minutes later. she tracked me down in the bedroom and told me that she "needs to be on TV!" I very hesitantly asked her why and she told me that if she was on TV then she could "tell everyone that God created the world and all the teachers ." ( How cool is that?! )

That's our girl..she is listening to you mom and dad. So much to learn about the good and not so good. God bless you all xoxoxo
See even after a little drama, Emma comes through with flying colors! So when will we be seeing her on TV?
Emma, I can't wait to see you on TV!!
As for the drama, girl drama seems to sometimes last for days and is mostly hidden from the teacher. Boy drama turns into pushing, shoving, and name-calling but then they are friends within the next hour.
Good point Amy. ATleast the boys get to the point and get overit!!
