The Spizzirri Rollcall

This was created to keep our families and friends updated in all of our adventures and because I need something to do with the many pictures I take.

daddy time

Rarely does Lauren really laugh out loud. She smiles nonstop but it takes quite a bit more to get her to chuckle, so when she does, we enjoy it. Emma usually can get her to laugh just by her being silly and laughing but Dave and I have a little bit tougher time. Anyway, she has decided tonight that she wasn't too tired at 9 so she played with daddy on the floor. She is getting up into a crawling position and rocking back and forth. I don't think she is going to take off or anything but it looks so funny cause she is so little.

Emma had her second soccer game tonight. I think she put her uniform on 3 hours before the game. Sounds like Brian putting his work uniform on 8 hours before he goes to work. :) Anyway, mom and Brian and Stacy and Ted and the twins came out to watch the "excitement." Emma's team has a couple really good players and I think they beat this team tonight like 15 to nothing. BUT Emma got away from the pack and scored a goal. She was SSSOOO excited as we were because she usually is running behind the pack. She jumped up and down and had to give everyone a high 5. What a great time.

We went to Target on the way home cause we desperately needed diapers and Emma asked me why some people have "big buns." Luckily she said it quiet enough that nobody heard it. I'm just dreading the questions about why people look different or talk different etc.

two crazy ones

Two crazy girls tonight. I am used to one always being wound up but two? Maybe it's because I have been up since Sunday morning. I got paged into work last night at 10:30 and have been up ever since! Yikes...pray for good sleepers tonight! That's about it except that Emma loves to lay next to Lauren then when she gets excited Lauren baps her in the face! Good night and sweet dreams for me! :)

more soccer pics

Just a couple quick pictures since blogger is actually cooperating tonight. What a fun day!

Emma's commentary on soccer

I am having WAY too much fun with this whole new video thing. Let me know if it is killing anyones computer. This is actually after the game, but I had to get the other videos off of my camera card to fit this on.

Here is a little clip from Emma's first soccer game. She did really well....hung in there with those big taller girls. :) Her team won 5-1 and everyone had a great time. They are about as cute as it gets. She didn't even yell at any of the players to give her the ball. :) By the way, if you need a little help finding her...she is number 12.

Finally, I am able to post some pictures. Yes, more swimming pictures! Today was her last lesson and Dave was off work so we all were able to go. She was so excited to show him how well she can swim.
On the way there, she said "dad you aren't going to believe it, you are going to be shocked." Then she explained that shocked means surprised. Thanks Em!
Yes, dad was shocked with the progress. They even started to teach her freestyle. We are going to take a little break from lessons and maybe start back up in a month or so. Soccer starts Saturday and boy will that be interesting. Last night at practice she ran behind the girl with the ball yelling, "hey, I want to kick it, give it back." OH BROTHER!! So we explained that the other team tries to take it away. We certainly hope that she doesn't get frustrated or a "red card" at her first game. :) She is the youngest and shortest (slowest) so she has her work cut out for her.
I took the day off and Dave let me sleep in which was wonderful. Lauren and I are feeling better and Dave still hasn't gotten the bug. Lauren is such a trooper. Here she is just smiling as always in her car seat at swimming.

These pictures are all over the place and not neatly on here, which drives me crazy :} Anyway, here is Dave dozing before swim lessons began. Maybe I should have let him sleep in.

I know I am rambling but I have to fill this space cause it will drive me crazy if I don't.
Dave had to go to a pizza party for Andrew's summer baseball team tonight at Big Fred's YUM! So I am waiting to go to bed till he gets home. We have so little time together that every minute is important. Plus he needs to give me a backrub....which he absolutely hates doing. :)

That's it for now, hope everyone has a great weekend if I can't come up with any new material.

Ugh!

Poor Lauren has caught the dreaded cold that almost our entire family has! She is coughing and sneezing but is a real trooper. This is her first cold, so not too bad for almost 6 months old. I too have lost the battle of not catching it! I came home from work early to try to catch a quick nap before Dave went to work. Gone are the days that I could drug myself and curl up in a ball in bed! :( Dave is so awesome...he took the girls shopping...(this is of course before Lauren was miserable)..so I could have a quiet house. They went to Kmart and he bought 2 adorable outfits for Lauren for the fall. Good job daddy!!!

I prayed for rain tonight but we didn't get enough to cancel soccer practice. Poor Lauren cried the whole way home. I had to stop to get gas and when I opened Lauren's door she was crying and Emma was crying! Yikes! That's when I knew it was time to call myself in for tomorrow! That's it for now...Lauren and I are off to medicate ourselves!

our "not so little one"

Our "little Lauren" isn't so little anymore. She weighs 16 pounds already. That may not seem like much to some, but Emma weighed 17 pounds at her first birthday. This one loves to eat anything that is put in front of her..I think it is her way of keeping up with her cousins and protecting herself from her sister. She is an absolute joy and the best baby....never cries, and happily gets drug all over town to Emma's activities or to look at the latest in counter tops :)
We had a great night tonight. First picked Emma up from her gym class, then to swimming which she absolutely loves. I wish I could post video because she is now going all the way under and swimming. It is truly amazing what she has learned in 1 month. Mom came to watch again then we went and ate at Fazzoli's or according to Emma, "Holey Zoley's." How can their spaghetti taste so much better than ours? Then off to Lowe's to look at some more countertops! I really should have been an interior designer....not that I'm good at it, but it's so much fun! Then we stopped at "Old Macdonald's for an icecream cone.
Here are just a couple pics of "Cheeks." Lately the consensus is that she looks like Dave!

soccer practice and sweat

Today was Emma's first soccer practice. She did fairly well but seemed to be a little more interested in her teammates names and ages and water breaks. It is rediculously hot here and I think that has put a damper on everyones energy level.

Hopefully no thunderstorms tonight. Emma woke up at about 4am this morning pounding at her door. Dave got up to see what she needed and when he came back to bed he said that she wanted him to lay with her because she had watched the news and it was supposed to storm. We haven't sat down to watch the news in days but when we do she gets all bent out of shape when she sees a lightning bolt in the forecast. Anyway, goodnight for now!

sorry dad...

Sorry dad, but I must post these cool pictures of your little midmorning nap while stacy and i were hard at work. just kidding, you had already done your part. for those of you who are gasping at the sight of this color, it's really not that orange looking after the second coat. it's actually a real pretty terra cotta color and will look even better when that aweful blue carpet goes. the room will definately have some warmth to it when we are through.

tonight we stopped at the soccer shop and picked up emma's uniform and shoes. the uniform is about 3 sizes too big but it is about the cutest thing. tomorrow night is soccer practice and she is quite excited to meet the other girls.

lauren's bottle is about gone so that's it for tonight.

nothing to write home about...

Same old story...swim lessons and work. we did have a great weekend though with all of the family and celebrating uncle mel's birthday! thankfully, mom fell in love with her newly painted rooms.... why wouldn't she though...stacy and i can pick out good colors!! It was a tiring week getting it all done..especially for dad as you can see in these funny pictures! Stacy and i had an awesome time since we both enjoy our own "style" of painting and the debate on what is correct painting technique. Maybe our need to be perfectionists/control freaks in this matter is why neither of our husbands are allowed to wield a paintbrush!

Yesterday,I laughed at Emma...course everyday she makes me laugh, but yesterday she was finishing up some M&Ms from her cousin Mara and everytime she put one in her mouth she would pull her shirt away from her body and look down at her stomach. Finally I asked her what she was doing and she said, "well, I'm just watching the M&M go down into my tummy" Then she said, "see, you swallow it and it makes your tummy stick out." Emma, M&M's, if eaten by anyone else, tend to make more than just our tummies stick out.

That's it for tonight before I start rambling on and on! Here are the pics finally from swimming. Tomorrow...once someone returns my memory card, I will post a couple from the painting project and the "supervisor" who decided to take a couple of midmorning breaks. Mom, I hope you didn't pay him by the hour.

baby steps

We are making slow but steady progress in the swimming pool. Atleast she loves swim lessons now and that is the most important thing to me right now. The rest will come in time. No lessons tomorrow, although her and this cute little boy "Caleb" hugged eachother today and said "see you tomorrow." His mother and I just looked at eachother but didn't want to break it to them that that was the last lesson. Emma will start again on Monday, but "Caleb" and her cute little friend Isabella are taking a session off.
Today's word is "allergist". Emma is trying to say, "allergic" but it's a-ler-gist. She is now allergist to everything...even eyeballs. Don't know where she heard that word but it's kind of funny.
I spent several hours over at mom and dad's painting. I love to paint and it was a nice break from going to work. I will go again tomorrow morning at about 7:00 so Emma once again thinks I went to work. The rooms are really starting to look great. I have seen on Stacy's blog that mom has accessed the blogs from Stuart, so I will wait on posting any pictures. I don't want her to cheat and see the entryway before she gets home. Dad has been working so hard...I just talked to him and we decided we should both go to bed so we can hit it hard again in the morning. We have some yummy food planned for Saturday with all the family, so we will have to get moving on that too a little. Blogger is frustrating me......still can't post any pictures!
Good night. :)

Swim lessons and stripping

Get your minds out of the gutter. I am talking about stripping wallpaper. We have done lots of swimming lessons lately and some wallpaper work at mom and dad's.
Emma is doing pretty well at lessons. She has only had 7 half hour lessons and is going all the way under water and sometimes jumping in without holding the teacher's hand. At first she was so nervous about the lessons and didn't even want to go, but the last few days she has told me that she wants 100 lessons. So I have signed her up for another 8 day session. I hate to lose all the progress we have made up until this point.
As for the remodeling job, Dad has been busy trying to get as much done at the house before mom gets home on Saturday. I have taken tomorrow and Friday off of work...darn....so I can help paint. I love to paint, especially when it is a new "fun" color. Dad has everything ready to go tomorrow, so I will probably leave here at 6:30 or so before Emma gets up. I want her to think that I went to work, so she doesn't wonder bother Dave about why she can't help paint too. We should have the wainscoting done tomorrow and the "fun" wall color done Friday. I have already started stripping the wallpaper in the kitchen and it is not going as well as the other room. Then, when I stripped the ceiling....(who papers their ceilings anyway) I noticed that there is another "really pretty" layer under that one. So anyway, the kitchen will be more of a challenge. I had Brian helping pick up all the scraps, but he was good for about a half an hour, then made some dumb excuse that he had something else to do....:)
Anyway, both girls are in bed already and that is where I will be in 5 minutes. How exciting to think that I can not only look scummy tomorrow, but I can dress scummy too. Wow, the little joys in life are so exciting.
Blogger won't let me post any pictures.....
