The Spizzirri Rollcall

This was created to keep our families and friends updated in all of our adventures and because I need something to do with the many pictures I take.

Hammy!

Well, we survived the weekend with the classroom hamster Hammy, and more importantly he is still alive!! I say that because we don't have a great track record with pets at our house (fish) and Lauren came close to stepping on him once or twice.

Actually Hammy was very low key and actually quite adorable. He doesn't stink at all, which is a huge thing for me and is VERY low maintenance. Emma informed me that he is "nocturnal" so he is up at night and sleeps during the day, which is hard for the girls when they want to play with him during the day. Lauren even loved to try to hold him and he had a plastic ball that we put him in and he ran all around the house, but thankfully not down the stairs.

Somehow, (hopefully) Hammy didn't catch all of our illnesses in this house. I am amazed at how Dave has managed to avoid getting sick this winter. I had to burn a sick day today, which I hate to do so early in the year, but it was necessary. So, I made another trip to the doctor and got a better antibiotic. :( I am a wimp when it comes to fevers.
Anyway, we are ready for spring at this house. The weather here is absolutely miserable, windy and freezing. I can't wait to be able to open the windows and get some sod on the ground.
Things could always be worse though so enough with the whining!!
The girls are watching "Barnyard" so I'm going to jump in a hot shower. :)

Sick X3

This is going to be a very quick post eventhough I haven't posted in a week or so. Today I had to work, but managed to sneak myself into an Emergicare to get meds for a horrible sinus infection.

Dave took Emma to a different Urgent Care for a fever and a horrible cough and she got some meds.

THEN, when Lauren woke up from her nap, she was running a fever and inconsolable. She went to a different Urgent care and got meds for an ear infection.

We are all medicated tonight, except Dave who probably wishes he was medicated having to listen to the coughing and sniffling and some complaining.

We should buy stock in Walgreens!!! Here are all the prescribed and non prescribed meds that we are now enjoying:

The girls were well enough to "attack" chocolate cupcakes for dessert.
Goodnight! I am hoping the Tylenol PM kicks in soon. :)

It worked!

OK, this is my second post right now because blogger was making me nervous and I didn't want to lose what I had already gained, so, read the other post first. Here are just more pics!

First night AND a new comforter set. ( I have to paint the girls' rooms soon, I can't stand the tan color. :(

Less than enthused Lauren on her first night with "same old Ernie"

Emma's rough night with two ear infections. Thanks auntie for coming over to help with the chaos and drama. :)

Lauren's rough time with a sinus infection.

The first grocery trip and it was MAJOR!!!! We were so in love with our non fast food..

Yummy Oreos for Santa.

"Baby Alives" from Santa

Personalized luggage from mom and dad for the sleepovers at grandma and grandpa's.

Lauren kept saying, "bye bye, I go to school now."

"carpet sledding" with uncle Ted.

Emma trying out her new roller blades from aunt Stacy, uncle Ted and the twins. (I told her to go put some "play clothes" on and she showed up downstairs ready to go in her church pants and uniform shirt. ) (just like her dad) :)

YIPPEE, I'm going to bed!!!!! :)

Finally!!

Well, I think, FINALLY we have working internet. I tried to post pics last night and blogger bumped me off and I couldn't get back on.

My patience is thin tonight so heaven help any act of technology that deletes this entry again! :)

I downloaded 130 pictures from my supposedly "nicer" camera that canon exchanged for my old one and the quality is less than acceptable. I have read the rediculous manual and don't have a clue what the problem is. I need to pay a visit to the camera store and share my feelings with them about this supposed "nicer" camera.

Anyway, seriously I try not to complain and crab on this site because my little issues are NOTHING compared to others' struggles so I will leave my complaining to just that.
We are pretty much settled here at "home" although I don't feel like it's home yet. Don't get me wrong, I love this house, but truly it will take building memories etc. to make it a "home." Plus, yesterday again Lauren asked if I could take her home. That doesn't help matters. :)
Both girls are good except now that Emma is back in school.......WATCH OUT!!!! She is tired and big time crabby the most of the night. Tonight was exceptionally challenging. They are both battling (possible) pink eye but not a big deal.

Here are tons of pictures from the 21st until now

:

moving day: we had awesome help and weather. (these pics are horrible)

The "Runza luncheon" at mom and dad's on moving day. Aunt Stacy babysit and packed.

Life without the Internet

Oh my, never did I realize how difficult life is without the internet. What did we do before it. Well, I know we didn't "blog."
Cox Cable is supposed to finally come out tomorrow and get us all squared away. I have TONS of pictures that are stuck on my camera so I am very excited to get hooked up and blog some of them.
We had a GREAT weekend! The twins, (along with their parents of course) and Lauren and I made the trip to the Qwest center Saturday for Sesame Street Live. Fun was had by all especially at concession time :) "When Elmo Grows Up" was so cute and it was so nice that none of our little ones were scared of the performance. I'm sure I have some great pictures but will have to wait a day or two. Dave "got out of" the performance but was doing things around the house that are easier done without two little ones around.
Mom and dad were kind enough to take Emma for the morning and most of the afternoon. She was thrilled to go bowling and be treated to McDonalds afterwards.
I think Lauren is coming out of her " I want to go home phase." She is starting to sleep better now in her room and we actually got her curtains hung yesterday. She pointed to her windows yesterday, that had cardboard covering them and stated, "Lauren scared of boards." We promptly took them down and got in gear with the curtains thing.
Dave went deer hunting last night with my buddy Tom. He had had a permit for the muzzle loading season in December but let's just say was "unsuccessful" then. He got another permit for the late season (which is now). Well, with the help of Tom putting them in a great spot and borrowing a friend's rifle, he shot two.
I know, deer meet for all. :)
Emma was thrilled to see them and even petted one of them. Gross! It was dark out and when we got inside Emma had blood on her coat. Let's just say I stripped her down in 1.5 seconds and got her in the shower. I actually gagged scrubbing her coat and not because it was blood, but it was blood from a dead animal that had been on my 5 year old's hands. GAG!
Oh yeah...and Saturday night, Stacy and I spent a couple of hours organizing the "scrapbooking room" in the basement. It is a THING OF BEAUTY. and the sooner I can get online the sooner I can order pictures and get started again. The room definately needs a special doorknob on it or there will be MAJOR craftroom explosion.
Ok, I better work.
