The Spizzirri Rollcall

This was created to keep our families and friends updated in all of our adventures and because I need something to do with the many pictures I take.

A trip to the Dentist

Today was Emma's first trip ever to the dentist and she LOVED it. The rest of us dread going, but not Emma. She loved it so much that when they told her they would see her back in six months, she said, "aaww, that's too long, I love this place." Of course they all laughed. Anyway, I am too tired to go on and on about anything tonight but here are some cute pics from today and the best part is....no cavities.

Four Filthy Friends

Hey, that could be a great book title!

What do you get when you mix water, sand, sidewalk chalk, and fudge bars..........

Two filthy bathtubs!
Anyway, the "two twins" came over today to play and we all had a great (but exhausting) day!!

Dad came and helped powerwash our deck so that we can get it stained and ready for our house to go "on the market."
I obviously took the day off and finished cleaning windows and screens.
I had to post Emma on the ladder......she climbed up and said, "mom, put this on the blog." So I took the picture not to disappoint her and immediately she said, "Ok, is it on the blog yet." UM.....NO! That's what I do when you are in bed.

Anyway the kids kept busy with all of the activities and Stacy showed off by drawing a beautiful "beach" picture for Emma. It is obvious that she is neither an artist or engineer because the palm tree is pretty much floating on top of the ocean. Hey Amy and Bob, let me know if there are any floating palm trees in Hawaii. :) The other picture is Emma with a beach towel on. (We can see where Emma gets her drawing abilities from)

We are very tired at this house. For some reason Emma NEVER EVER wears down. She was still going crazy at bedtime. I mentioned bedtime to Lauren and she came right to me. Here are just some random pictures from the day and the beautiful artwork.

Dad, thanks so much for all your work here!!!

Thank goodness for the Deputy and not the Trooper.

Yes, uncle Mel, I could "plead the 5th" if I want to, but I will incriminate myself so that you all can enjoy the story.

Yes, I got pulled over on the way to grandma's on Saturday.
I was going "just over" the speed limit in a construction zone.......AKA flying to make good time, when we passed a cop car blacked out behind some barricades.

Simultaneously Dave and I went, "eewww" I had no doubt been caught. SO, I pulled myself over onto the nearest available shoulder and waited till he caught up.

Dave just smiled and said, "let's see how you get out of this one." I was thrilled to see the Deputy walking up to my car instead of a super Trooper with his hat on. Except it wasn't Douglas County, it was Dodge.......and we don't know anyone from Dodge county. :)

Anyway, he gave me the whole, "do you know why I stopped you?" And I answered with a very convincing, "oh yea" He says, "you were going ____ <--(not important) in a 45"

Then of course he asks to see my license......so here it goes..........."Um, my license is in my purse along with my gun because we are both Omaha cops." "Oh, ok, go ahead and get it." (We must look really non threatening cause he let me reach into my purse where my gun was) ANYWAY, I handed it to him and Dave had dug out the other paperwork.

He looked at it for a second and said, "Sarah, you're up kind of early" "yes sir, we are headed to my grandma's"
"Well slow down and have a good Easter weekend" "YES SIR AND THANK YOU"

That was it! Whew, that is why my little duty weapon travels with us! :)
Plus, the deputy was very cute!

So I came back to work and a gal I work with is married to a former Elkhorn cop who is going to work again for Dodge County. I told her what had happened and she immediately pulled up the deputy's picture on the computer. "Thank you Deputy Ough" You saved me some major money.

And that's the true account of what had occurred......not to exciting!
(truly though, you should ALWAYS plead the 5th) (right Ted?)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone and Happy 85th Birthday to Grandma Kaup.

What a weekend we had and it's hard to believe it's back to work tomorrow. We are trying to recover from all the Easter activities but we thoroughly enjoyed the week.

Thursday night the four kids colored Easter eggs at Stacy and Ted's. Wow, was that chaos. Some tried to drink the dye, some got spilled, some eggs got cracked but all in all we had a great time. Mom and dad brought pizza over afterwards. After that, the girls and I quickly made our yearly visit to the mall to see the Easter bunny! Luckily there was no one else there and Lauren loved him. Then we made our way to our storage unit. I had "jumped the gun" and put away our winter coats. Luckily we quickly retrieved them for our trip to Stuart for the Easter egg hunt.

Friday morning early mom and dad and Brian picked up Emma and took her to Stuart with them so she could spend some extra time with her cousin Mara from Colorado. Dave and I enjoyed our quieter night with just Lauren by eating "all you can eat fish and chips" at a local restaurant. YUM!!

We got up early Saturday morning and left for Stuart at about 0600hrs. Saturday we celebrated grandma's birthday with family and friends and of course had wonderful food and cake. Then we "bundled up" for the easter egg hunt in the park. It was FREEZING!!! Needless to say, we were in and out in a matter of five minutes, but the kids enjoyed it...especially Emma.

We left Stuart at about 6:30 that night and we thought the kids would maybe sleep some of the way back. YEA RIGHT! Lauren fell asleep about a mile from home and had been angry and frustrated most of the trip. Emma was frustrated because Lauren was frustrated and Dave and I just focused on not becoming frustrated! :)
The easter bunny came of course this morning and Emma was thrilled to find all of the eggs. She watched her new movie "Milo and Otis" and begged to watch it again. Dave had to work at 7 this morning and met us for only a little bit at grandma Spizzirri's for lunch. The girls and I all took a nap this afternoon and Dave got home, changed his clothes, then got paged in to work. :( Luckily that didn't last too long.
We hope everyone had a wonderful blessed Easter!

Ah, quiet time.

How nice is a quiet house when everything is picked up and it's mommy time. So, here I find myself checking Emails and blogs and figured I was overdue on my own blog.

The girls are great and we are enjoying the nicer weather, although that is changing as I type. Emma loves to play out in the back yard and run up and down the fence with the two boxers (dogs :) that live behind us. I just wish it would actually wear her out more than it does. Lauren just bangs on the door and yells at her.

We are finished with the house hunting and have almost finalized floorplans. We are now going to focus on getting this house ready to be put up on the market. Just a lot of little things and some windows to replace.

We had quite the day last week. The day that we went to sign our contract with the builder we were told that the "other" builder was refusing to release our lot. (They had found the lot and had put it on hold for us.) Anyway, apparently they were being a little childish about us not going with them SO they have decided not to play nicely.

That's OK because the lot next to it is just as good as is a better shaped backyard. Glad we picked who we picked. I can't handle the games!!!

Anyway, the same day, Dave called me from work and said that a "mugshot" had just crossed his desk and that it looked "very familiar." SURE ENOUGH, it was the window guy that we were going to have replace our windows. Must have had a guardian angel that day cause he was booked for 5 counts of insurance fraud. "Two steps forward and one step back" is the way it's been going.

We are excited for this weekend as we are making a very quick trip to Stuart for grandma's 85th birthday. We still have to dye eggs and the Easter bunny is clueless on what to put in a basket but I'm sure she will figure it out.

I am going to head to bed.......lots and lots and lots of work awaits me at work! Sarah
Oh, the picture is what our house will look like except it will be brick instead of stone (much cheaper :)
