The Spizzirri Rollcall

This was created to keep our families and friends updated in all of our adventures and because I need something to do with the many pictures I take.

WOW, what a day!

Some things about today were very average....

  • Lauren attacking a mint girl scout cookie....
  • Me attacking a mint girl scout cookie.....
  • Emma being angry cause I wouldn't let her push Lauren on our walk.....
  • work.....
  • preschool.....
  • etc.etc.etc...

Some things about today made this day incredibly stressful, exciting and memorable.....

The absolute BEST part of the day was getting a phonecall out of the blue telling us that Emma has been accepted into St. Patrick's school for kindergarten next year. WE are absolutely shocked because we were on a huge waiting list and were pretty much told that there was no chance of getting in this next year. WOW...thank God....literally!!!

We are thrilled because we don't have to switch schools on her and it will be much closer to home. Kindergarten round up is this Saturday and our little overachiever is concerned already that she doesn't know how to read yet. :)AND it is all day kindergarten which she is already jumping up and down over. But, she did have to make sure that I was not going to school with her. Once I told her that parents aren't allowed, she was even more thrilled. Go figure!!

We FINALLY made some Major decisions on the whole house thing today. I ended up taking most of the day off of work and meeting Dave at the furniture mart to "research" what one can actually get with the carpet allowances the two builders were offering. One was offering $12 sq yd and the other $30 sq yd. Anyway, we have learned tons in this process and Dave thinks I could be a "consultant" by now for people that don't want to do the research for themselves. NO WAY....I'll stick with police work!!! We have gone with a builder who sets a little higher pricepoint BUT gives huge allowances for things, thus if we don't meet our allowances, that money can be dumped into drywalling the basement, which is pretty important so Dave can have somewhere to hang his "dead animals." :)

We have gone with a ranch and are absolutely thrilled with both the floorplan and our lot! We are meeting on Saturday to iron out the big stuff, so the plan can get to the developer for approval. We hope to be in our home by Halloween so that we can trick or treat in our new neighborhood. Just kidding....there will only be about 6 houses built in the whole development by then. :) Too bad it can't stay that way....we would feel like we had an acreage.

Thanks to all who have listened to me go on and on and on at times about this process and particularly for all the prayers. :) <------- Emma just made that. It is 10 pm and she took too long of a nap today so now I am trying to coax her back to bed. She was in her bed "practicing reading." Good night.....(I hope)

Bye Bye silly lookin' snowman

First of all, a big thank you for all of your prayers for Lauren. She is 100% and definately back to her smiley self. Somehow the rest of us also managed to not "get it." Yeah!

Anyway, our foot of snow is almost gone and Emma and Dave built this funny, but cute snowman yesterday when it was a little too warm for a snowman to survive, but nice enough for them to be outside. Anyway, the mouth is some rubber thing attached by two white golf tees. The eyes are two white golf tees colored black. How funny is it. Dave helps Emma build one every year and I love to see what he has found around the house to use for the body parts.

Of course, it was even nicer today so the poor silly snowman melted quite a bit and all his funny parts fell off. Emma is so into snowball fights so of course we had to get one last one in this winter.....(hopefully).

Scary huh?

Anyway, we spent most of the day travelling from one model home to the next....still in search of the "perfect floorplan". We MAY have found it today with a builder whom we haven't researched yet. Anyway, we are keeping our fingers crossed that it works out.
Our neighbors across the street always have an ugly tow truck in their driveway. (It truly matches their crappy lookin' run down house. Well, today we noticed that the flatbed pickup parked beside the house has a beautiful brown recliner on it. Seems like time for a call to the local authorities. :) We have to get out of here before there is a couch or fridge in their front lawn. We are despirately seeking a neighborhood with rules. You can't have enough rules!!!!

Poor Lauren

Poor Lauren is under the weather. She has thrown up for two days and refuses to drink pedialyte. We took her in and she definately has some form of the flu and it can be contagious according to her doctor. :( Anyway, the poor thing just lays on us.

A huge thank you to mom and dad for taking Emma to swimming and to "her gym." Lauren would not have been up to it as we had "another episode" after dinner. I'm sure Emma will be disappointed next week when I take her and she doesn't get spoiled with an ice cream cone at 7:30pm. :) That's ok, she is already out for the night.

Thanks again mom and dad!

This poor pathetic picture is from November when we had the deadly noro virus....but this is about how ill she seems now. Prayers would be totally appreciated!

Happy Birthday "Lauren Eliz"

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY LAUREN !!

Obviously I need a lesson on how to put pictures in certain places......ugh

Lauren had a great first birthday. I can't believe it has been a year....what a perfect little baby so far. Anyway, she loved her cake we enjoyed the company and pizza. She got so many new toys, which is always nice to have something new and she is so into babys, so she has carried around her little Cabbage Patch infant (thanks uncle Mel and aunt Kathy) all day.

Also, for those of you out of towners that read this.....we got hammered with snow today, (12"-15") which everyone crabs about but it is kinda fun to play in and drive over in the 4X4.

I worked today and Dave is there now.....Emma and I just got inside from making her a "tunnel" and an "igloo" which may collapse at any time, so I can't just leave her outside to play in it on her own. :) We now have MANY layers of snowcaked clothes that will have to make a visit to the dryer. What a great time but we wonder every year why we have not gotten a snow blower.
